We are looking for qualified individuals to provide Remote Sensing Support for FHTET's analytic investigation of forest health. Undergraduate education in natural resources, geography or a closely related field, as well as demonstrated competency in ERDAS Imagine, R, S-Plus, and/or SAS, ArcGIS, and Python are minimum requirements for these positions.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service's Forest Health Technology Enterprise Team (FHTET) was created to develop and deliver forest health technology services to field personnel in public and private organizations in support of the Forest Service's land ethic, to "promote the sustainability of ecosystems by ensuring their health, diversity, and productivity." The Information Technology unit of FHTET is engaged in a project designed to demonstrate the utility of imagery-based products to track disturbance (annual deviations from normal) and estimate forest health damage during the calendar year.
