GeoCorps features paid geoscience projects in some of America's most amazing public lands, which are managed by our partner agencies-the Bureau of Land Management, the National Park Service, and the U.S. Forest Service. This round of projects features some of the nation's premier public lands, such as Yosemite National Park (CA), Devils Tower National Monument (WY), Dominguez-Escalante and McInnis Canyons National Conservation Areas (CO), and the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests (CO). GeoCorps project areas cover a broad range of subjects, including geology, hydrology, paleontology, mapping , GIS (Geographic Information Systems), geo-hazards, education, and interpretation.

Benefits
These temporary, paid opportunities provide on-the-ground geoscience experience and include a stipend of $2,750 (or more), free housing (or a housing allowance), and in many cases, a travel allowance.

Eligibility
Geoscientists of all levels are eligible to apply. This includes, but is not limited to, undergraduate students, graduate students, post-docs, professionals, faculty members, teachers, and retirees. Past GeoCorps participants are eligible to apply for "Guest Scientist" positions and "GeoCorps Diversity Internships."

*Ethnographic Research Assistant<http://www.mmsend54.com/link.cfm?r=201091673&sid=43361270&m=4959934&u=GEOSOCIETY&j=19581845&s=http://rock.geosociety.org/g_corps/2013/viewJob.asp?jobID=1393>, Chaco Culture National Historic Park (Nageezi, NM). This position is seeking someone with experience and background study in the physical sciences, anthropology, ethnology, or archaeology. The applicant should be a member of, or have connections with, one of the local tribal groups, such as the Navajo Nation, Pueblo of Acoma, Pueblo of Zia, Pueblo of Zuni, Pueblo of Laguna, Hopi Tribe, or Northern Rio Grande Pueblos. The applicant must be able to discuss these topics with elders from neighboring tribes, and be capable of working independently. Experience with or knowledge of the ethics of gathering and presenting ethnographic information is desired.
