INSTRUCTOR IN PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY/GEOSPATIAL SCIENCE
The School of Earth, Environment & Society at Bowling Green State University invites applications for a full-time Instructor position in Physical Geography/Geospatial Science beginning August, 2014. We are seeking a geographer with expertise in atmospheric sciences, including weather and climate, meteorology, and/or climatology, and proficiency in geospatial science. Minimum teaching responsibilities include undergraduate classes in weather and climate (GEOG 1250), and geospatial science (SEES 3000). Other courses might be included depending on the candidates interest and expertise.
Extensive facilities to support teaching and research include a student computer lab with a total of 30 workstations with site licenses for all major GIS and remote sensing software packages, large format color plotters, large and small digitizers and scanners, color printers, sub-meter GPS receivers, and portable field spectrometers (300-2500 nanometer and 2-15 micrometer wavelength ranges). We are also well-equipped for acquisition of field data with GPS and ruggedized Tablet PCs for mobile GIS.
The term of appointment is one year. Minimum qualifications at the time of employment are an MA/MS, with a Ph.D. preferred.
