Dear Colleagues,

The University of Massachusetts Boston<http://www.umb.edu/> is seeking a Program Manager for our new IGERT Program (Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship). IGERT<http://www.igert.org/> is a grant program administered and financed by the US National Science Foundation funding interdisciplinary doctoral education and research. UMass Boston’s IGERT, awarded in August 2013, will focus on Coasts and Communities<http://www.umb.edu/news/detail/igert_fellows_will_seek_environmental_solutions_across_disciplines>. Its fellows, who will be admitted for the Fall of 2014, will study the interaction between human systems and environmental systems in the Horn of Africa and Massachusetts Bay from a variety of academic perspectives.

The Program Manager will manage all programmatic aspects of the IGERT Coasts and Communities program as well as assist participating PhD programs in coordination and student recruitment efforts. He or she will also manage relationships between involved departments at UMass Boston and departments in foreign university collaborators. The successful candidate will have a MA/MS in an environmental discipline. Experience in academic program management is required.
