Next Emeriti Park dates

Wow, today was beautiful at the Park, and we really accomplished a lot. We cut back the Butterfly bushes and cleared out the Honeysuckle vines in one area. Then we crossed to the other side of the park and cleaned out the Iris and Daffodil beds. We even discovered some beautiful sandstone blocks that had been covered over with dirt and mulch. I learned a lot about Catmint (not catnip), too!

I've got some good before and after pictures that I hope to upload to the Emeriti website one of these days. This e-mail server doesn't seem to like to send pictures.

I want to thank all the volunteers and the "wannabe" volunteers this year. Since the last report, Lesli Johnson, Lynda Berman, Roxanne Male'-Brune, Tom Franz, and myself have braved the weather. Once the sun shines bright, many more of you will join us, I'm sure.

Kelam will update us on what we will be doing. We have great plans to plant native plants and redo the waterfall, in addition to keeping the park tidy.
Today, we also discovered that the hidden lights are no longer working. So, maybe a future project could be to enhance lighting... OK, I'll try not to get carried away__
