Hi Everyone,

Here is the announcement about the Emeriti Tax Seminar on January 28, 2009,
(10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon) in Room 154 of the Ohio University HUMAN
RESOURCES BUILDING on Union Street across from the HDL Center.

The Emeriti Association Benefits Committee will be holding a Seminar on
Federal and State Taxes on January 28 at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon in
Room 154 of the Ohio University Human Resources Building. If you have
friends you’d like to invite please do so but let us know (see below) that
they are coming.

We are fortunate to have two excellent people who will tell you about
changes in our taxes for the current tax season as well changes in recent
years.

Don Cooley is a 1985 graduate of Ohio’s Accounting program who comes highly
recommend by his former professors. Don is currently a Partner at Cotner &
Cooley, CPA’s in Athens. He also teaches advanced accounting at Rio
Grande, business start-up seminars for the Small Business Development
Center, and presents seminars on tax and estate planning.

Kelli Bell is a 1995 summa cum laude graduate of Ohio University who
received her J. D. Degree from the University Of Cincinnati College Of Law
in 1999 and an LL.M. degree in Taxation from Capital’s College of Law in
2007.

In addition to their presentations, they will answer any questions you have
about taxes (or will direct you to the place where you can get an answer).

The HR Building is on West Union Street just across from the HDL Center.
There is a parking lot behind the building. Usually there are plenty of
spaces in that lot. If you have a valid University hang-tag, you may park
in the lot behind the HR Building. Room 154 is on the first floor. Enter
through the center door of the building and turn left. 154 is on the left
at the end of the hallway. You may also park at the metered spots along
West Union Street. If so, enter through the center door on Union street
and turn right at the hallway, continue to the end of the hallway and turn
left. Do not park in the HDL Center lot; you may be ticketed or towed.

Please let me know that you are coming?send a note to that effect to
foster at ohio.edu. If you’ve already sent such a note, then you don’t need
to send another.

Ted Foster
