The Athens Town Meeting originally scheduled for last week will be held 
this Thursday, Feb. 5, from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Athens Community Center on 
East State Street.  This first in a series of town meetings will have two 
goals: to update the community on the present status of the Comprehensive 
Plan developed a few years ago to provide guidance for the future of 
Athens, and to provide a forum for group discussion on how to implement the 
Plan.

The meeting is sponsored by the Mayor, the executive committees of the 
Neighborhood Associations, the Athens City Planner, the Athens County Land 
Use Plan Steering Committee, the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, the 
League of Women Voters, and Ohio University's Office of Off-Campus Living.
