<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#006FC9">Wayne State University is awarded by the International Research Experience for Students (IRES) program of the National Science Foundation to implement an Advanced Studies Institute (ASI) in France in
2023 with the theme of industrial risk management for active diagnosis, accurate characterization, and reliable mitigation of industrial risks. The ASI is hosted by Wayne State University in collaboration with the National Institute of Applied Science – Loire
Valley Center (INSA CVL) at Bourges and the National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Automation - Lille-Nord Europe (INRIA Lille). Industrial risk management is an extremely important aspect of industrial operation. It deals with various industrial
risks including quality degradation, contingency, human errors, as well as faults and/or failures of industrial systems that may bear immediate, severe, and potentially catastrophic consequences on property, personnel, communities, and the environment.

experience of industrial risk management and its applications to industrial systems with emerging technologies such as renewable energy systems, smart grids, and autonomous systems and robotics, etc.

industrial risk management with unique applications to robotic and autonomous systems, battery networks, and smart grids. Through various activities such as short courses, seminars, student presentations, case studies, etc., students will be immersed in a
diverse and vibrant learning and research environment supervised and taught by French and US experts. During the two-week ASI activities in France, we will also arrange cultural tour for two days in France.
