 and Sciences will host the Second Annual Graduate Student Pedagogy Conference, "Perfecting Pedagogical Practices," on Friday, February 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Friends of the Library Room, Alden 319.</span><span style="font-family:"Cambria","serif";color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black">The conference seeks to create a space for practitioners to talk about what they do in their pedagogy, what they have tried in class, and what has proven successful. This one-day event provides
 an opportunity for presenters to share their best practices as teachers and foster discussion of pedagogical practices. Ohio University graduate students representing departments from across the College of Arts and Sciences, the Patton College of Education,
 the Scripps College of Communication, and the Russ College of Engineering and Technology will cover topics including fostering critical thinking skills, promoting active learning, and developing teacher-student relationships.</span><span style="font-family:"Cambria","serif";color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black">Dr. Loran Marsan, Visiting Assistant Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, will be the conference’s featured keynote speaker. Her talk, “Queering Pedagogy and Knowledge Production
 in the Classroom: Creating Praxis-Oriented Courses,” will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. The conference will also feature two workshops throughout the day, “Lesson Plan B: Teaching Spontaneously,” led by Dr. Linda Rice, and “Using Blackboard Effectively,” led
 by Patrick Mose and Jeffrey Harmison of the Office of Instructional Innovation.</span><span style="font-family:"Cambria","serif";color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
