Watch Party with Pizza in ARC 106 at on 10/25 at 7PM
The Ohio University IEEE Student Chapter is hosting a Microsoft Teams Presentation by Darren Crawford (BS ’90, MS ’92), Operations Coordinator for the Proton Improvement Plan II (PIP-II) project at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab). The PIP-II project represents a major upgrade to the world-class Fermilab accelerator complex, and features an 800 MeV superconducting linear accelerator that can accelerate protons to more than 80
percent of the speed of light. A test area at Fermilab, PIP2IT, was created to validate the novel designs for PIP-II and gain operational experience. This talk will center on the various technologies tested at PIP2IT and accelerator operations.
Guest Speaker - Darren J. Crawford
Engineering Physicist - PIP II Operations Coordinator
PIP II Division - Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory
