[Eecs_phd] Special limited invitation: Student MtM meetup in Columbus Oct 24th

We still have room for more students to attend this special event at Barley's Brewing Company on October 24th.

Why should students attend?

  *   Learn about the latest technologies such as Pervasive Encryption<https://www.wired.com/story/ibm-z-mainframe-encryption/> and Machine Learning<https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/02/16/ibm_machine_learning_watson_mainframe/>.
  *   Meet top technical and executive representatives from companies such as JP Morgan Chase, Nationwide, Fiserv, Morgan Stanley and Huntington Bank.
  *   Demonstrate their ability to quickly learn new technologies by participating in Master the Mainframe<https://masterthemainframe.com/> right in front of potential employers.

Prior to attending, students also need to:

  *   Register for Master the Mainframe at masterthemainframe.com
  *   Install the pre-req software on their laptops (you'll need to bring a laptop with you) following the instructions at http://mtm2017.mybluemix.net/connectivity_guide/connectivity_guide_software.html
  *   They are allowed, and encouraged, to start the contest prior to the event. We'll have staff available to help you through any questions, so it's wise to leverage that help for the harder parts of the contest.

We have a special event for clients in the Columbus area to learn about the new z14, including the game-changing Pervasive Encyrption. I would like to make sure that your students have a chance to take advantage of this unique opportunity. We're organizing a meetup for students to go through our Master the Mainframe contest from 2:00 to 3:30pm, just before the official client event. At 3:30pm, the students are invited to join the clients to learn about this world class server and mingle with top executives from some of the area's biggest employers. We did this in Chicago last week and an executive from one of the companies attending offered an internship to whichever student finished Part 2 of the contest first! I'm hoping the executives attending the Columbus event are equally impressed with your students.

We have limited space for students and faculty to participate in this meetup, so be sure to register quickly if you can participate. You're invited to a private, limited attendance meetup at Barley's Brewing Company
IBM is holding an exclusive client event and they've offered a limited number of seats for students and faculty on a first come first serve basis.

We'll have a private meetup just for students from 2 to 3:30pm to learn about the servers that large scale enterprises use to run their businesses.
Bring your laptop because we'll be going through the opening challenges of Master the Mainframe contest so you can get hands-on experience.

At 3:30, we're invited to join the main event to learn about the latest advancements in IBM Z technology.
>From 5 to 6pm, you'll have a chance to network with top executives from the area.
It's better than a career fair, you'll be making personal connects with key people at the best companies in Dallas.
