Hello,
I would like to share an exciting opportunity in Boeing's Graduate Researcher Program (GRP). This program provides a 10-12 week paid summer internship for graduate students who are pursuing a PhD in an area of engineering, science or mathematics related to Boeing. These internships often lead to full-time appointments after graduation, if the student enjoys the work and is interested in launching their career at Boeing.
My team will have an opening next summer for a GRP Intern in the area of Computational Chemistry / Materials Science. This internship will be focused on developing and implementing modeling techniques in the areas of corrosion, coatings, and composite degradation. The intern will also have the opportunity to learn about quantum computing and potentially contribute to new projects that leverage Noisy Intermediate Scale Quantum (NISQ) computing devices.
The internship job requisition is now live (see below) and will stay open until October 31st. I've copied the job description and qualifications at the bottom of this email. Note that this internship is limited to U.S. Persons.

Computational Chemistry / Materials Science: We are Boeing Research & Technology: Boeing's global research and development team creating and implementing innovative technologies that make the impossible possible and enabling the future of aerospace. We are engineers and technicians, skilled scientists and bold innovators. We are looking for a PhD candidate in computational materials science or related fields (e.g. computational chemistry, computational physics, applied math, etc.) with the ability to analyze diverse applied mathematical opportunities that arise in a large enterprise, including but not limited to applying computational and numerical methods to business and engineering applications. The candidate is expected to have the ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex problems, grasp business and engineering challenges, formulate, analyze, interpret and communicate results to the business and engineering communities. An ideal candidate will have a passion for applying computational methods to solve real world materials engineering problems.
Basic Qualifications for all positions (Required Skill/Experience):
* Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a Doctorate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field of study
* The ability to work a minimum of 10 weeks (12 weeks preferred) during the summer of 2023
Preferred Qualifications:
* PhD candidate in computational chemistry, computational materials science, applied math or related fields.
* Experience with chemical or materials modeling & simulation software.
* Software programming skills and/or knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, C, C++, R is preferred
* Have a passion for research & development and a desire to apply mathematics to solve hard industrial problems
* Strong desire to work with technical and non-technical audiences and be a self-starter.
* Ability to manage several simultaneous projects effectively and across various geographical locations
