I would like to advertise the course CS 4900/5900 "Quantum Information Processing Systems" (class numbers 12498/12499). The only prerequisite is linear algebra & complex numbers (a quick review will be provided), you do NOT need to know quantum mechanics. These are the topics we hope to cover in the course:

* Qubits, gates, superposition, entanglement, statevectors, density matrices, phase kickback
* Hands-on programming in Jupyter notebooks: Qiskit (Python), noise models, error models
* Algorithms: Deutsch-Jozsa, Bernstein-Vazirani, Simon's, Grover's, phase estimation, Shor's
* Implementation: photonic quantum computing using polarization & beamsplitters, with an overview of NV- centers in diamond, optical GKP states, superconducting, trapped ions, silicon qubits, neutral/Rydberg atoms
* Simulation & Annealing: solving maximal independent sets using neutral atoms, overview of quadratic unconstrained binary optimization, variational quantum eigensolvers
* Cryptography: teleportation, QKD using BB84, E91
* Communication: spin-photon interface, quantum error correction, repeaters
* Recent experiments: Micius satellite-based QKD, various entanglement and teleportation experiments
* overview of quantum sensing

Please let me know if you have any questions (chenji at ohio.edu<mailto:chenji at ohio.edu>)
