I wanted to pass along two job descriptions for roles we are currently supporting in Columbus Ohio. Both are full-time roles seeking entry level folks! Please feel free to share with any recent grads who are looking for a job in the Energy & Utility field.

Engineering Coordinator
Apex Systems is looking for Engineering Coordinators in Columbus, Ohio with our largest Energy & Utility client.

  *   Update system models and read one-line reading scripts
  *   Update Impedance and Rating reports for Transmission lines.
  *   Communicate with Engineering groups to correct discrepancies
  *   Interface with customers to resolve power quality issues.
  *   Monitor and analyze circuits and report problems to regional engineering teams.
Experience with:

  *   PSSE Modeling
  *   Short-Circuit Analysis
  *   Load Flow Studies
  *   Access Database
  *   Excel
  *   Programming (Python, Visual Basic, etc.)
  *   Aspen
Education

  *   At least an Associates in Engineering Technology – preferred  electrical, electronic, or computer.
  *   Bachelors in Engineering Management
Customer Service Engineer
Apex Systems is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer with customer facing experience in Columbus Ohio.
Minimum Duties & Responsibilities for this position include:

  1.  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  2.  Experience with customer facing activities including in person interactions
  3.  Energy & Utility industry knowledge
Additional Expectations:

  1.  Knowledge of power system behavior and general power industry structure
  2.  Clear and effective oral and written communication
  3.  Effective interpersonal and team-work skills
  4.  Ability to work independently and collaborate across departmental boundaries
  5.  Ability to work with unstructured problems and assignments requiring flexibility, cross-functional collaboration, and personal initiative to define and achieve
  6.  Ability to plan, organize, and execute work assignments, take initiative to solve problems, and make decisions within established policies and procedures
  7.  Computer skills using Microsoft Windows based tools (Windows, Office, etc)
