Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to share a summer study abroad program that may be of interest to your Computer Science students who are interested in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data systems, and the real-world security implications of emerging technologies.

The Security and Society Summer School<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsras.heiapply.com%2Fcatalog%2Fprograms%2F1316&data=05%7C02%7Ceecs_bscs%40listserv.ohio.edu%7C9cff5fd7c1c1428b112808de4ef74c1b%7Cf3308007477c4a70888934611817c55a%7C0%7C0%7C639035021197416171%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=kWbEmR%2FTc2K3sK1CnRjrvgMMkDLbGgSj38OzUticy%2F8%3D&reserved=0>, based in Warsaw with a study tour to Berlin, examines how digital technologies-including AI-are transforming modern security environments. Topics include cyber conflict, disinformation systems, network structures in asymmetric threats, critical infrastructure protection, risk analysis, and the strategic use of data and automation in contemporary conflict.

A key component of the program is a research internship with the Terrorism Research Center, where students develop an original research paper under expert mentorship. Projects explore the interaction between technology, security, and society, offering students an applied, policy-oriented perspective on the systems they study in technical coursework.

While the program is not a programming or engineering course, it is particularly well suited for Computer Science majors interested in cybersecurity, AI governance, data ethics, information warfare, and the societal impact of advanced technologies.

We will be hosting an INFO Session on Saturday, January 17 at 11:00 AM ET, including an introductory lecture "Countering Terrorism in the Age of AI." This session is open to students and faculty.

We would appreciate your consideration in sharing this opportunity with students seeking an international, interdisciplinary perspective on computing and security.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like additional details or materials to share with your students.

Best regards,
