Summer Internship in Computer Science/Cyber Security

HOST:  Perry County
LOCATION:  New Lexington, Ohio
Pay $17 per hour
Hours 35-40 per week
DATES:  May 12 to August 14, 2026.

The intern will be exposed to the wide variety of computer services needed to operate public service operations for Perry County Commissioners.

A plus if you know:  Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.). Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Social Media.
Technical skills: basic knowledge of core networking and security tools; programming and scripting, security concepts.

Candidate will assist IT employees with large scale government rollout, establishing cloud-based infrastructure, server elimination, and email migration efforts.
Along with assisting in the day-to-day needs of a large-scale IT department. The candidate will learn and install communication systems with IP phones, hardware installation and setup, and streamlining internal service and communications.  Candidate will also learn about cybersecurity measures, how to implement, analyzing a cyber security plan and implementing, understanding cybersecurity and prevention.

Candidate will learn all aspects of a large organization, Hardware, software, budgeting, invoicing, audio/visual setups, and data security measures.

Candidates will also have opportunities to participate in supplemental programs provided by the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission.
