[Eecs_bscs] Who is Claude Shannon?

30 April 2016, is the 100th birth anniversary of Claude Shannon. For those who don't know, information theory is one of the most important subfields of electrical engineering, and Claude Shannon is considered by many to be the father of information theory. It was he who coined the term "bit" in his 1949 masterpiece "A Mathematical Theory of Communication".
