Gentlemen,

Here is a email sent from Kelly (Jim's secretary) that explains the $50 out of house fee and some other important business.

Hi Guys,

Before you head home for the holidays, I wanted to get some info over to you about the house, answer questions about fees, and what-not.

Regarding changing banks to open a savings account, all accounts are to stay at HVB. If there is another bank that has a much better interest rate, talk to your contact at HVB and see what they can do for you. Mention to them that the fraternity has all of it's accounts with the bank, not just the one chapter checking account that you take care of.

I have also attached a spreadsheet with housing costs from last school year. This should be a pretty good representation of what you should expect this year's utilities to be. I know the out-of-house members are questioning the need for a $50 fee each quarter, but please take a look at the info I am sending over. Not only are there the basic utility costs for maintaining the house, there are also other bills....I included the costs for cleaning, lawn care, and landscaping, but we also pay insurance and taxes on the fraternity's property as well (which add up to several thousands of dollars). Not to mention when maintenance and repairs need to occur.

You see, being part of the fraternity, whether you live in the house, or not, it's necessary that you support the facilities.....look at the list of costs that I sent over. $50 out-of-house fee is an inconsiderable amount of money, it doesn't even touch the costs that the fraternity incurs each school year. It shouldn't be the sole responsibility of the in-house members to cover the costs, when the entire membership should be utilizing the property to grow the brotherhood and also increase the number of new members.

Ok, now onto other business....=)

Who is the new treasurer? Also, all payments (rent, fees, etc) need to be made through OmegaFi....No one should be writing a check to any fellow member of the fraternity.

We will also be switching the Time Warner account from Jim's name and making it a commercial account in the chapter's name. Members will be responsible for handling all issues with the account and arranging services. This should remedy the lag time that you are enduring currently when a problem occurs.

Whew.....I think that covers it. Let me know if I left any questions/concerns unanswered. Have a happy and safe holiday season, gentlemen!!!

Regards,
Kelly
