From Russell.L.Burke at hofstra.edu Mon Oct 26 14:47:12 2026 From: Russell.L.Burke at hofstra.edu (Russell L. Burke) Date: Mon, 26 Oct 2026 18:47:12 +0000 Subject: [Dtwg] [External] want to publish a scientific paper about your terrapin work? In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Use caution with links and attachments. DBT folks: I am working as Guest Editor with the premiere turtle-oriented journal Chelonian Conservation and Biology to produce a special issue focused on Diamondback terrapin research. CCB is a well-regarded journal with rigorous peer review, high citation statistics and a great place to show off your good work. My target is 10-14 full research papers, but shorter papers will also be considered. I am especially interested in papers that involve multiple sites, even multiple regions or range-wide. There's been an explosion of new techniques being applied to terrapin biology in the last few years, and these are also very welcome. CCB is published twice yearly, in June and December, and soon will be shifting to a fully open access model. Manuscripts must be accepted by 8 October 2027 for the December 2027 issue, but manuscripts will be processed as they are submitted and can be available via open access before December. The cost will be about $1300/manuscript for Open Access publication and unlimited color photographs and figures. If you have work in progress, a manuscript in development, or questions about a possible submission, please let me know. And some of you, I suspect you know who you are, I am going to ask to review these excellent manuscripts. Be prepared.
