[Dtwg] Pit Tagged terrapin

Hi all,

This isn’t one of ours in the Cape May area either. It could be an AVID tag, but ours are usually 9 digits and typically all numeric in recent years, with letters only at the end in rare cases. Not sure how much this can vary though.

It is not any terrapin I have marked in MS, but I only have a handful microchipped.

If this mystery is resolved I am sure the group would love to know where it came from, if that can be shared.

Thanks

Tom

This tag didn’t come from the UHCL Texas terrapin, either. The tag ID format is similar to the ones we have purchased from AVID in the past, though.

We will pass on to our colleagues, as well.

This does not belong to our Cedar Key terrapins either, but I'll pass this along to others working in the region.

Thanks,

Coleman

This does not belong to us either. We use tags from Oregon RFID with 15 digits (no letters). I passed this along to my colleague with NYC Parks, who is also marking terrapins.

CAUTION: This email originated from outside the Port Authority. Do not open attachments or click on links from unknown senders or unexpected emails.

It’s not one of mine but that should be reported to FWC (I can send you the contact if interested). I can ask a few other folks that work with terrapins, but won’t if that is something you don’t feel comfortable with.
