No nesting yet here on the York/James Rivers in Virginia, but females are piling up in the shallow water off of nesting beaches.  Alas, when I took my new summer students out for their first terrapin tour, we came across an abandoned pot with 30 dead terps.  Depressing first day of research for the students:
