Our first nesting female terrapin on Long Beach Island, N.J. was recorded today. Let the games begin here at Barnegat Bay! - John

Our Wellfleet terrapin mating aggregation is now in full swing but no females are palpably gravid. This is a similar pattern to 2018 when nesting first started in mid-June.

I’d like to keep the tradition alive—can everyone report to the listserve when terrapin nesting starts at their site?
I thought of this again after seeing news reports that loggerheads had just started nesting in Georgia.
Here up north, it really helps us plan the start of our season to hear as the start of terrapin nesting makes its way up the coast. Plus, it’s cool.
