OU College Democrat,
I would first like to thank all of you and all of your hardwork these past couple of months. We have come a long way to repealing SenateBill 5, stopping HB 194, and growing our membership to ensuring a strongorganization for next year’s Presidential Election. It has been incrediblyrewarding and I am extremely grateful for all the hours you all have investedinto this organization. I hope you all know it does not go unnoticed. 
With Ohio University’s break just starting to roll I wantedyou all to be aware of yet another campaign I hope you don’t overlook. Thegerrymandering work from the Ohio legislature known as HB 319, not only putsAthens with parts of Franklin County, but sets up Ohio in a 12-4 districtdivide in favor of Republicans in our purple state. Without stopping this mapwe can see huge republican advantages in Ohio for the next TEN years. 
This is where you come in…Just like SB5 and HB 194, we aregathering signatures statewide to put this map up for the voter’s decision andnot the politicians. With that being said the campaign needs your help. Thereare limited funds for this fight so volunteers are absolutely key to ensuringequal representation for the next ten years.
I ask for all of you in some way or another to get involvedwith this very important fight. We must turn in these petitions by Dec. 23rd.This means that OU College Dems will not be having meetings or events for thisfight. I hope this email serves as a call to action for you all when we areaway for break. Take a few hours away from your holiday shopping and contactyour county party. Since we cannot help out Athens’ County this time, we willhelp out our home counties. Please be sure to notify me or other exec boardmembers where and when you volunteered.

If any of you are still interested in running for CentralCommittee for Athens County, the filing deadline is THIS Wednesday December 7th.Just go to the Athens County Board of Elections on Court Street between8am-4pm. As of now we have 10 OU students running, and I believe more of ouractivist friends in the community have also declared.
