Dems Minutes May 25th

I hope you are all having a good week! Here is what is going
on in Dems:

Thank you to all that participated in Relay for Life! We
raised about $3,200, putting us in third place for the entire event!! Great
job!

Washington D.C. is this weekend! Contact Kellie if you have
not signed up for a specific car at this point. 

Thanks to everyone that has been phonebanking in the last
week! Please continue working your shifts and if you need to change your shift
or would like to add a shift, contact Liz. 

Those Dems staying this summer, we would love your help
campaigning so please contact Nate if you will be here over the summer

Senior send-off will be June 5thso if you are a
senior and would like to be sent off, please contact Meredith. 

Possible Constitutional amendment changes will be voted on
next week, those amendments include:

1.       Communications
director would be assigned to maintain the Ohio University College Democrats
Alumni Organization

2.      In
the event of a tie for any position of the Executive Board, a runoff election
shalloccur
immediately between the candidates with the highest votes. If the results of
the runoff election are tied, a coin toss, overseen by the advisor, will
determine the official winner

College Democrats of American
Convention early registration ends next Tuesday. The convention is July 29ththrough August 1st
in Charleston, North Carolina. You can register
for the convention at collegedems.com and contact Nate if you would like more
information

Thanks to all that
volunteered at the Bone Marrow Drive! Over 400 people were swabbed so great job
and also thanks to all that came and got swabbed!

Students Defending Students
is taking applications now and they are due May 28th. Slip
applications under the SDS door in the Student Senate Office

June 5this the
campaign office opening party for Debbie Phillip and Lieutenant Governor Lee
Fisher will be speaking at the event

There is a Debbie Phillip’s
picnic fundraiser at the shelter house by OU Inn on Richland Avenue next Wednesday,
June 3rd.  There is a suggested
donation of $10 for attending the event. 

College Democrats of Ohio
is looking for a Southeast Regional Director for the upcoming year. Contact Nate
at natehall5 at gmail.comif you are
interested.

The Ohio University “Post”
is now taking applications to be a columnist for the upcoming year
