[Dcoualumni] Meet your new Executive Board for the Nation's Capital Chapter of the Ohio Alumni Association!

Good morning Bobcat Alumni!

We are excited to announce that at the end of June 2016, we elected a new
executive board for your Nation's Capital Chapter of the Ohio Alumni
Association! We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves
and look forward to working with you over the next two years.

*John Moore, 1988, B.A. Sociology: *I have been elected as the new
President of the Nation's Capital Chapter of the Ohio Alumni Association. I
have served on the OAA board for eight years, including the last six as the
Sports Committee Chairman. I am excited to take on this new and challenging
role. It is my hope to move this Chapter forward and continue to grow in
the coming years. With the help of the other board members listed below, I
think we can do great things and have a great time doing it.

I want this Chapter to be interactive, so if you have any ideas for events,
suggestions for ways to make things better, or just to say hello, I am
always available at DCchapterprez at yahoo.com.  I look forward to meeting
many of you and hope I can do my best to serve this Chapter to the best of
my ability.



*Lauren Vollberg, 2008 B.S. Meteorology*: I am the newly elected Vice
President of the Nation’s Capital Chapter. I’m a Washington D.C. area
native and I currently reside in Germantown, MD. I recently served as
Social Chair on the chapter board for 4 years and I look forward to working
more with John and the alumni association in this new leadership role.
Since we live in our Nation’s Capital, we have many exciting and
interactive events to take advantage of in our own neighborhoods. Whether
it’s getting together to visit the Smithsonian, or to “stand up and cheer”
for the Bobcats at Penns Quarter, or going to see a live show at the
Kennedy Center, the possibilities are endless. I look forward to meeting
all of you and hearing your suggestions for chapter-hosted events. My email

*Whitney Pesek, 2009 B.A. Sociology/Pre-law*: I am the newly elected
Treasurer of the Nation’s Capital Chapter. I’m an Athens native (a.ka.
townie) and I currently reside in Washington, DC. I look forward to meeting
all of you and working together to make the Nation's Capital Chapter the
best Ohio Alumni Association. Please feel welcome to reach out to me at any

*Amanda Janice, 2010 B.A. Political Science and 2012 Master of Public
Administration:* I am your newly elected Secretary of the Nation’s Capital
Chapter so I look forward to engaging with all of you in-person and on
social media! We’re excited to look into new ways to involve the many
alumni in the DC metro area so stay tuned for events and opportunities to
