May 20: Washington Policy Forum - Health Information Technology
Ohio University invites you to a special Washington D.C. Policy Forum on Health Information Technology.

 Tuesday, May 14, 2013
 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

 U.S. Capitol Visitor Center
 Congressional Meeting Room South
 First St SE
 Washington, DC 20515

Please join University representatives and your fellow Ohio University
alumni for an evening of engagement, networking, and learning in an
iconic Washington D.C. venue.

The healthcare share of U.S. GDP
by 2022 is projected to rise to 19.89 percent form it 2011 level of 17.9
percent. The adoption of Health Information Technology (Health IT) is
changing how we transform systems of care and leverage technology to
meet patients where they are, to improve care and health outcomes, and
lower costs. In this Health IT ecosystem, information is now becoming
portable, personalized and participatory, making it a perfect complement
to a more patient-focused model of healthcare – unbound by age,
location or economic strata. Information isn’t pushed or pulled; it’s
shared persistently and pervasively in real-time between providers,
patients and insurers -- that’s the ultimate hope. This ecosystem is
still in a formative stage and some prime determinants – standards,
security layers, compliance and regulation – will have a heavy influence
on the adoption curve and the proliferation of Health IT solutions
going forward. To help us better understand these changes, we have a
wonderful panel of Ohio University alumni who are engaged in these
issues on a daily basis.

Moderator and Panelists information will be announced very soon. For more information, please contact David Bambrey at (740) 593-4308 or at bambrey at ohio.edu.
