Sept. 14: September Happy Hour - DC





Come out and mingle with alumni in downtown DC for our rotating monthly happy hour! 
       *we will be raffling off some great items*

Happy Hour prices until 9 pm: 
$3 Yeungling, $4 Guinness, $5 wines, $4 spirits

Sept. 24: Ohio vs. Rutgers Football Game (Trip to NJ)
Travel with the Nation's Capital Chapter to Rutgers Stadium and watch the Ohio Bobcats take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in person!
We will be joined by the Philadelphia, NY/NJ/CT, and Massachusetts Chapters at the Game!

Date: September 24, 2011 (Saturday)

· Depart 8:00am, location TBD, likely Union Station
· A stop in Baltimore, could be arranged if there is enough Alumni interest to attend from that area
· Arrive at the stadium roughly 12:30pm
· You can bring all your provisions/food & drink on the van

· A University organized “Bobcat Bash” pregame event is also planned from 12- 2pm, with a separate fee of $18 per person ($9 for 6-12yo, 5 & under - free) for all you can eat/drink (soft drinks) plus party favors.

Oct. 2: Ohio University Women in Philanthropy Hillwood Tea/Tour for DC Alumnae 






Join Ohio University Women in Philanthropy for tea and a guided mansion tour at the fabulous Hillwood Estate in Washington, DC. The afternoon will also include an exhibit about the elegant bridal fashions that society doyenne Marjorie Merriweather Post wore in her four weddings. Please arrive by 12:45 since we’ll begin at 1 p.m. with a brief film about Hillwood followed by a guided mansion tour at 1:30 p.m. There will be time to view the Wedding Belles exhibit and finally we’ll conclude with networking while tea is served at 3 p.m. 

Cost is $33 which includes $20 for fine teas, finger sandwiches and sweets plus a $13 suggested donation for the guided mansion tour. For more information about Hillwood, visit www.hillwoodmuseum.org.

Hillwood is a mile-walk from the Van Ness UDC metro station. Hillwood also offers complimentary parking, but encourages carpooling. Excellent directions can be found on the museum website at www.hillwoodmuseum.org
