DC Area Bobcats,

The Nation’s Capital Chapter is in the middle of a fundraising effort to endow a scholarship that will assist a DC-area student attending Ohio University each year, to be called the Nation’s Capital Chapter Scholarship. 

We have raised over $10,000 so far, and need to reach $15,000 to endow this scholarship!

We need your help to get there!

There are several ways that YOU can help:

1. Participate in the Golf Scramble on June 25th! 
The Ohio Golf Scramble has been our biggest fundraiser for this scholarship, with all proceeds benefitting the fund. Entries are $110 per player/$40 per non-player To Register: https://secure.www.alumniconnections.com/olc/pub/OUL/event/showEventForm.jsp?form_id=68477

2. Sponsor a hole/tee box at the Golf Scramble! (min. $110 donation)
We are asking alumni that run or own a business to become sponsors as a way to reach potential customers that are fellow alumni, and to help support the chapter in our effort to raise. All donations are tax-deductible. In return for your hole sponsorship your business or organization will receive a sign for the hole you sponsor announcing your name/business. You will also receive mention in the event program and on the Facebook Event page (with your webpage link) and listing in electronic communications to all participants.

3. Donate an item(s) for a raffle prize!
We will also be raising money at the golf scramble through a raffle. Help us by donating an item, or service that will help us to raise money.

4. Donate an item/service for our Online Auction!
We will be hosting an online auction to help us raise money for the scholarship fund. Donate an item or service for the auction, or bid on an item to help us raise $ for the scholarship.

5. Give Directly to our Scholarship Fund!
I urge you to give whatever is possible- $110, $250, $1,000 – today, so that we can continue to grow and support the largest alumni chapter network of Bobcats outside of the State of Ohio. Come out and have a good time as we raise money for a scholarship to support a DC area student attending Ohio University.

The winning golf team will qualify for an expenses-paid trip to go to the legendary Pinehurst Resort to play in the ACURA College Alumni Team Championship.   The winning team will compete for the Acura Alumni Cup in this 2-day, 36-hole best-ball competition.

Leon Harris, News Anchor for WJLA-ABC7, will be joining us as our Guest Speaker for the Post-Tournament BBQ and Awards ceremony!



Times: 11:30am free driving range/Check-in opens 

             12:30pm putting contest 

              1:00pm shotgun start 

              6:00pm (approx.) post-tournament dinner & awards 



Cost: $110 per player, $40 per non player 

*For Players - Package includes: round of golf, cart, driving range, 3 tourney contests, dinner after the tournament, 
     one future free round per player at South Riding Golf Course, one free ticket to a Hagerstown Suns baseball game and a goody bag. 
*For Non Players - Package will include dinner, and a goody bag. If you don't play golf but want to attend.
