Subject: Appalachian Ohio Storytelling Activities this Weekend

The Appalachian Ohio Storytelling Project is hosting the Baltimore based storyteller, social activist and educator Jennifer Rudick Zunikoff. The first week of April 2019. Ms. Zunikoff is a traditional Jewish storyteller with a deep knowledge and appreciation for her culture.

While in the Athens community Zunikoff will perform and conduct a workshop for the OU Hillel organization on Friday evening and Saturday morning. (April 5th and 6th) (see attached flier)

On Saturday evening she will join with the Appalachian Ohio Storytelling Project, as the featured artist, to perform in concert at Christ Lutheran Church. The concert is titled “A Welcoming America: Take Your Place at the Table.” This concert is a political action that is intended to honor cultural diversity and multiculturalism in the United States. It is also an opportunity speak out against the current fascist policies of the Trump Administration. , and the world wide rise in Fascism in general. There will be a strong emphasis placed on a pro-immigration position. (Peggy Gish will give a short story-telling presentation about immigration issues at the Mexico/US border)

The concert is open to the community and a donation is suggested to help underwrite costs associated with the performance.

Sunday afternoon, the Athens Quaker community will host Jennifer. She will conduct a workshop titled: “Building Community Through Storytelling” This workshop is open to all and there is no charge

Monday evening (if funding is available) Jennifer will present for UCM. / Better Tomorrow.

Donations are still being accepted to make this work happen
