Hello folks,

I am forwarding this important email to you. We are connected with a very committed Community Organizing organization called DART (Direct Action and Research Training Center). They always contact me because they know the commitments of our program and students.

If you are not sure what you want to do next year, or if you know you want to move into community-based social justice work, I would encourage you to learn more about this program. They are holding a webinar for initial information, and then will follow up if folks apply.

Scroll all the down to the final section and you can read a description of what the position entails if you are selected. They provide you with training, and then you begin at a salary of $34,000 plus benefits.

If you know of other friends or colleagues who are interested, please pass the information along to them. It is quite an opportunity. There is contact information below as well if you have further questions. If you contact Hannah Wittmer, you can indicate where you're studying and in what program and she will be able to know you're with us! ;-)

Thanks. --Jaylynne

Subject: Requesting your help getting word out to Cultural Studies in Education - DART's hiring community organizers

Prof. Hutchinson,

Hello there. I hope your semester is off to a great start. DART is once again accepting applications for our highly selective grassroots community organizing positions, some of which start in January 2015, others in June 2015. I'm holding a webinar information session in two weeks to connect with OU students and alumni who would like to learn more.

We have posted the positions through the career center, but, we are particularly interested in connecting with Cultural Studies in Education students and alumni.

I was hoping you could help once again this year by:

**Sharing the announcement below/flyer attached broadly with student listservs, newsletters, fellow faculty/staff and class lists as appropriate

**Vetting and suggesting any individuals who seem particularly hard-working and passionate about justice, so that we may personally invite them to attend

Last fall, 2014 OU grad Camille Davis attended our information session on the recommendation of Prof. Eddith Dashiell. She was one of six organizers hired from more than 400 applicants for our June 2014 cohort, and she's doing excellent work with our organization in Evansville, IN. We would love to add another Bobcat to our team in 2015.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Take care,

Hannah Wittmer
