 *Workshop Description*: This workshop is meant to increase a
practitioner's knowledge of trauma in the specific areas of treatment,
ethics, and multiculturalism. Through lecture, question/answer periods, and
discussion, this workshop will provide an overview of specific
interventions to use with individuals who have experienced trauma. Ethical
and legal issues will be presented that may arise when family violence
occurs to help counselors manage boundaries and navigate the legal system.
A panel discussion consisting of representatives from community agencies
will help inform participants in the ways in which they can respond to
unique populations who have experienced trauma.

*Workshop Objectives*: Participants will become familiar with the
principles, tools, and techniques of Trauma Focused-CBT with children and
adults. Additionally, participants will learn about the legal and ethical
issues regarding family violence and how to respond to the needs of diverse
populations who experience trauma.

Three and one quarter (3.25) CEUs offered to the following licensed mental
health professionals:
Professional Counselors (PCs/PCCs), Social Workers, and Marriage & Family
Therapists - OCSWMFT Board Approval #MCST031308
