<strong>Description:</strong> The Department of Rehabilitation Counseling seeks to fill an Assistant/Associate Professor counselor education position. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counselor Education, or a closely-related

The proposed faculty hire date is August 16, 2019. This is a nine-month, tenure track position which entails teaching, scholarship, and service in a CACREP-accredited master's degree program in clinical rehabilitation and mental health counseling. The successful
candidate will be a creative, dynamic, and resourceful scholar and educator who demonstrates ability to perform the following duties and responsibilities: (1) teach master’s and doctoral level courses related to rehabilitation and mental health counseling
in both on-campus and distance learning formats; (2) conduct relevant research; (3) obtain external funding to support research and education; (4) advise and mentor master's and doctoral level students; and (5) provide service to the university, community,
and profession.<br>

Established in 1955, the VCU Department of Rehabilitation Counseling serves as a national leader in the professional preparation of counselors who will exercise skill and competence on a high ethical level and with personal integrity. The Department seeks to
perpetuate active programs of research and service, and maintain high levels of teaching competence. In partnership with students, community agencies, and consumer and professional organizations, the Department endeavors to enhance the personal, social, and
economic independence of individuals with disabilities. We offer an M.S. in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, postgraduate Advanced Certificate in Professional Counseling, and Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Leadership. The Department is situated in the
College of Health Professions on the VCU Medical Center Campus. VCU is designated by the Carnegie Foundation to the combined statuses of "Research University, Very High Research Activity" and "Community Engaged Campus." <br>
