Development (AMCD) and the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Issues in Counseling (ALGBTIC). This year we will be hosting Dr. Catharina Chang from Georgia State University as our guest speaker. Dr. Chang will be talking about counseling
graduate programs (masters and PhD). Our student representatives will be present to answer questions about graduate school as well. The event will be recorded and shared via email at a later date.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Dr. Catherine Y. Chang (Catharina)</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"> is a professor at Georgia
State University. She is the director of International Programs for the College of Education and Human Development. She has conducted over 100 presentations, workshops, and keynote addresses and has authored/co-authored more than 70 publications including
one edited book. Dr. Chang’s primary areas of interest include social justice and advocacy, multicultural counseling competence, counselor training and supervision, and counseling implications related to Asian American and Korean American clients. She has
held several leadership positions including president of the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development, president of Chi Sigma Iota-International, and vice president for the Asian and Pacific Islander American concerns of the Association for
Multicultural Counseling and Development. She is currently a trustee and chairperson for the American Counseling Association Foundation. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Desa Karye Daniel</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"> (CSJ Student
Representative) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Counselor Education & Supervision 2<sup>nd</sup> year doctoral student. Her research interest focuses on supervision relationships for racial/ethnic minorities, the lived experiences of racial/ethnic
college students, and the lived experiences of Black/African American Women in academic spaces. She has and continues to work with diverse clients at a community mental health clinic and a college counseling center where her work focuses on the Black student
population. She currently serves as the Division 45 Student Representative of the American Psychology Association and the Counselors for Social Justice Student Representative of American Counseling Association. Ms. Daniel plays an active role in Division 45,
Division 35, and APAGS. She was awarded the 2015 A. Toy Caldwell-Colbert Distinguished Student Service Award. She continues to advocate for inclusive spaces for racial/ethnic minority students within academia and within APA.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Michelle D. Mitchell</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"> (AMCD Student
Representative) is a doctoral candidate at in the Counselor Education program at the University of Central Florida. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She is presently a graduate research
assistant and administrative coordinator at the University of Central Florida’s Community Counseling and Research Center, where she manages and oversees the daily operations of the counseling center. Michelle remains active in service through her roles as
a Doctoral Mentor to Master’s level students, a member on several American Counseling Association (ACA) Division standing committees, and the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD) Graduate Student Representative. She is a member of
the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD), the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling (AARC), the Southern Association of Counselor Education and Supervision
(SACES), and the Florida Counseling Association (FCA). Ms. Mitchell’s commitment to multiculturalism in counseling has been previously recognized through the 2017 AMCD Emerging Graduate Student Leader Award and as a 2017 NBCC Minority Fellow.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Nevin J. Heard</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"> (ALGBTIC Student
Representative) completed his master's degree in Clinical Counseling from The Ohio State University. He is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Ohio and is a national certified counselor. His research interests championing social justice and
focuses on the disparities facing ethnic and racial minorities, people living with HIV, marginalized socioeconomic populations, and the LGBTQ community. Nevin is currently served as the Student Trustee for ALGBTIC and is an active member of ACA, ACES, AMCD,
and CSJ.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
