<b>Job Description:</b><br>
The College of Education at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a tenure track, Assistant professor in Counselor Education to begin in Fall of 2018. Responsibilities include any or all of the following: conducting research, teaching graduate
courses in the counseling core and in school counseling specialty, advocating and representing the school counseling program in the community; providing supervision and involvement in the school counseling program; advising and serving on graduate committees
for master's and doctoral students; possibility of developing courses for the interdisciplinary work, contributing to counselor education program, development, and service; participating in college and CACREP performance assessment activities; writing grants,
engaging in other scholarly activities; and, providing service and outreach to the university and to the profession.<br>

The successful candidate must hold an earned doctorate from a CACREP-accredited program in counselor education or entered the counselor education field prior to 2013. The candidate must have at least one year of experience working with school-age students and/or
with K-12 schools or equivalent. The candidate must be capable of teaching courses in the counseling program, school counseling specialty, and show productivity or strong potential in a program of research and grant acquisition.<br>

<b>Preferred Qualifications:</b><br>
Preference will be given to applicants who are eligible for school counseling licensure in the State of Nevada and those with supporting expertise in the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) model and interest in becoming engaged with schools. We seek
candidates with a strong commitment to social justice, multicultural sensitivity, and advocacy for marginalized populations, aligning with the ACA cultural competencies.<br>
