<strong>About the Position: </strong><br>
The Associate Director of disAbility Resources for Students (DRS) provides operational oversight, management, supervision and campus-wide daily leadership in support of Western’s commitment to students with disabilities engaged in academic and co- and extracurricular
activities. The Associate Director reports to the Registrar, who also serves as the Director of DRS. This is a permanent 12-month, full-time position with excellent benefits.<br>

<strong>About the College/Department: </strong><br>
disAbility Resources for Students provides equal access for students with disabilities to all curricular and co-curricular opportunities at Western by ensuring that qualified students with disabilities receive reasonable and appropriate accommodations. DRS
is committed to an environment and culture of inclusion, equity and diversity in our staff and collaborative programmatic efforts to ensure academic success for students with disabilities. Students with disabilities are deeply established in all areas of co-
and extra-curricular activities, athletics and across all academic disciplines including exceptional scholarship. The department strives for excellent retention and graduation of students with disabilities and incorporates efficient use of technology with
individualized support and development. DRS collaborates with many university offices including academic departments, the Counseling Center, Equal Opportunity, Dean of Students, Student Health Ce nter, Financial Aid and Admissions in order to advance department,
division and university goals. DRS organizationally reports to the Registrar/DRS Director, who in turn reports to the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services.<br>

<strong>Position Responsibilities: </strong></span></span>
<ul>
<li style=""><span style="font-family:georgia,times,times new roman,serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Provide leadership, supervision and management of DRS daily operations</span></span>
</li><li style=""><span style="font-family:georgia,times,times new roman,serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Provide direction and development of DRS staff by ensuring cultural competence and ethical practices are central to service delivery and student advising/counseling</span></span>
</li><li style=""><span style="font-family:georgia,times,times new roman,serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Develop and maintain departmental standards for the independent determination of appropriate and reasonable accommodations and/or services based upon an
individual assessment and in collaboration with the student</span></span> </li><li style=""><span style="font-family:georgia,times,times new roman,serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Provide individualized disability management counseling and advising for students</span></span>
</li><li style=""><span style="font-family:georgia,times,times new roman,serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Develop and coordinate programs/trainings for students, staff, faculty and public to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of accommodations/services
according to current research, national standards and internal program assessment</span></span>
</li><li style=""><span style="font-family:georgia,times,times new roman,serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Liaison with university offices and departments to promote disability awareness that includes disability culture, social justice, history and social construct</span></span>
</li><li style=""><span style="font-family:georgia,times,times new roman,serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Coordinate interdepartmental efficiency to support retention and graduation efforts for students with disabilities</span></span>

relates to this work)</span></span> </li><li style=""><span style="font-family:georgia,times,times new roman,serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Experience working effectively with multi-diverse populations, including students from a wide range of backgrounds and social identities</span></span>
</li><li style=""><span style="font-family:georgia,times,times new roman,serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Supervisory and resource management experience within an institutional structure, including a demonstrated ability to effectively supervise staff and work
collaboratively across an organization</span></span> </li><li style=""><span style="font-family:georgia,times,times new roman,serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Knowledge of applicable disability law, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and demonstrated
