<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:16.0pt">Suicide Prevention Measure Clears Ohio House by Unanimous Vote</span></b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">A bill that would require Ohio’s public colleges and universities to make suicide prevention and other mental health resources available to students is well on its way to becoming law.
<a href="https://www.legislature.ohio.gov/legislation/legislation-documents?id=GA131-HB-28">
House Bill 28</a>, sponsored by Rep. Marlene Anielski (R-Walton Hills), passed the Ohio House of Representatives yesterday with a 92-0 vote. The bill would require Ohio’s higher-education institutions to establish suicide prevention and education programs that
include: intervention access, mental health programs access, multimedia application access, a student communication plan and a postvention plan. Suicide is the second-leading cause of death among college students, according to the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
