Hiram College is currently accepting applications for one Doctoral or Master’s-level intern to work in the Counseling, Health and Disability Services Center beginning August 2015 to May 2016. </span><span style='color:#282828'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";color:#282828'> </span><span style='color:#282828'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";color:#282828'>The emphasis for this internship is on developing the student’s clinical skills and familiarizing them with working in a college counseling center. The Counseling, Health and Disability Services Center provide free, confidential, short-term counseling to students currently enrolled at Hiram College. We have also begun to offer groups, workshops, and community events to students, faculty, staff, and the Hiram community. Interns are expected to spend 20-25 hours per week at the Counseling Center providing individual counseling, group counseling, and counseling assessments, attend required staff meetings, and receive individual supervision. This counseling internship is ‘unique’ because of the ample opportunities that are possible. For example, the intern may be able to create programs/workshops for the campus community, develop therapeutic groups, assist with grant writing, provide presentations for the college and/or national, state or local counseling conferences, write manuscripts for potential publication, and participate in college events.</span><span style='color:#282828'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";color:#282828'> </span><span style='color:#282828'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";color:#282828'>Founded in 1850, Hiram College cherishes its heritage as an institution of academic excellence and rare distinction.
