                                        The Department of Special Education and Disability Studies is seeking candidates for an Assistant/Associate Professor in Secondary Special Education and Transition Services (tenure-accruing, academic year appointment), beginning August 2013.<br>

                                        <br>

                                        <strong>Responsibilities:</strong> The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a research agenda, participate in external research and grant activities and be an active contributor to the Secondary Special Education &amp; Transition Services Program in the Department of Special Education and Disability Studies. The new faculty member will be expected to teach graduate level courses in special education in both core courses and areas of specific expertise, advise master's and doctoral students, facilitate community partnerships, and contribute to the college and community through service activities.&nbsp;<br>

                                        <br>

                                        <strong>Basic Qualifications. All applicants must have:</strong><br>

                                        (1) EdD/PhD or equivalent in Special Education or a related field with an emphasis in teacher education, and transition;&nbsp;<br>

                                        (2) demonstrated skills to apply emerging knowledge bases in the design and implementation of cognitive, social, behavioral, and/or academic interventions for students identified with disabilities and their families, classrooms, or schools, school to careers and postsecondary education;&nbsp;<br>

                                        (3) demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level as evidenced by peer or student evaluations;<br>

                                        (4) a minimum of three years public or private school special education teaching; and,&nbsp;<br>

                                        (5) experience in supervision of intern teachers.<br>
