Our program offers CACREP accredited master's degrees in clinical mental health counseling and school counseling, as well as a graduate certificate in addictions studies and a thriving undergraduate degree in human services. In addition, a CACREP aligned doctoral program is currently being developed. We are seeking candidates with a doctoral degree from a CACREP accredited program (by August 2013) who have a demonstrated record of, or strong potential for developing, an active research agenda including publication in ACA peer-reviewed journals and seeking extramural funding. Along with research, responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, supervising students during practicum and internship experiences, advising students, and service to the department, college, and university. We seek a new colleague to bring expertise to one or more of our program areas in school counseling, clinical mental health counseling, and addictions counseling. The Counselor Education faculty value active involvement nationally within ACA and its divisions and seek a new colleague who shares this commitment and who is willing to provide national service and leadership to our profession. The Counselor Education Program is housed in the Department of Educational and Clinical Studies along with programs in Special Education, Early Childhood, and English Language Learning and a candidate with potential for interdisciplinary collaboration with these programs is desirable. UNLV has been ranked as one of the most diverse university campuses in the U.S. and the ideal candidate must have the knowledge and skills to work effectively with a culturally diverse student body. UNLV is committed to nurturing equity, diversity, and inclusiveness among its faculty and candidates from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

This position requires an earned doctoral degree from a CACREP accredited Counselor Education Program by August 2013.
