RESPONSIBILITIES</h4>
<div style='margin: 8px 0px 12px; padding: 0px 10px 0px 0px; line-height: 1.5em; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 0.8em; background-color: rgb(245, 245, 245);'>The College of Education at Northern Illinois University is seeking an energetic and creative chair who will provide effective, forward-thinking leadership for the Department of Counseling, Adult and Higher Education. The department offers M.S. Ed. and Ed.D. degrees in counseling and in adult and higher education. <br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">
<br style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">The department chair serves as the department’s primary academic and administrative officer, and is accountable directly to the Dean of the College of Education for all aspects of development and operation of the department, including budget, curriculum, personnel, and resource allocation. The chair will work with approximately 15 regular continuing faculty, as well as supportive professional staff, part-time instructional staff, operating staff, and approximately 500 students. The chair position is a twelve-month position and salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.</div>
