Winston-Salem State University (WSSU), an historically Black, regional, comprehensive, liberal arts university is one of the 17 constituent institutions of the University of North Carolina. Located in the Piedmont Triad, the university enrolls over 6,000 students, employs more than 400 full time faculty members, offers 42 baccalaureate degrees and five master's degrees. WSSU seeks an energetic and dynamic individual to serve as an Assistant/ Associate Professor in the undergraduate Rehabilitation Studies program in the School of Education and Human Performance and Sports Sciences. <br>
<br>
<strong>Duties include:</strong> teaching undergraduate courses, advising, and mentoring students; scholarly research which results in publication; participation in or support of development of opportunities for students to gain practical experience such as: internships; clinical participation; research exposure; and service learning; participation in departmental and university service such as outcomes assessment; and professional service.<br>
<br>
<strong>Competencies Required: </strong><br>
Ph.D., or Ed.D in Rehabilitation Counselor Education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. <br>
Evidence of ability to engage in scholarship. <br>
Evidence of ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to accomplish departmental and university goals. <br>
<br>
<strong>Preferred: </strong><br>
Teaching experience at the undergraduate level; <br>
Evidence of scholarly publications; <br>
Experience teaching courses related to substance abuse/addictions and/or LCAS or commitment to sit for the exam;<br>
Evidence of sponsored research or support for scholarship or expertise by relevant industry; <br>
Leadership in professional organizations; <br>
Reputation as recognized scholar and/or teacher in field; <br>
Experience with learning or program outcomes assessment; <br>
Record of service to higher education and profession. </p>
