<p>Monsour Counseling and Psychological Services (MCAPS) is seeking <strong>two full-time (40 hours/week)</strong> post-doctoral therapists for the 2012-13 academic year. We are looking for competent clinicians who would like to join a dynamic staff who are
passionate about the services they provide to students. These positions are 9.5 months in duration (anticipated start August 8, 2011, extending through May 18, 2012).</p>
<p>The Claremont University Consortium serves The Claremont Colleges, seven private independent colleges and universities serving a highly selective student body. Monsour Counseling and Psychological Services is one of three services in Student Health and Counseling
Services, and is staffed by licensed, doctoral-level senior-staff psychologists, who provide supervision for the post-doctoral therapists and pre-doctoral interns. MCAPS works collaboratively with two other student services: Student Health Services, and Health
Education & Outreach.</p>
<p><strong><em>Compensation and Benefits:</em></strong></p>
<p>Full-time post-doctoral stipend: $25,000. Post-doctoral staff members are eligible for medical, dental, life insurance, and retirement benefits (employer contribution equal to 10% of annual salary). Four weeks of leave time is scheduled over winter break.
Reimbursement for professional liability insurance is available. Reimbursement and release time for professional development may be available, upon approval.</p>
<p>The full-time post-doctoral experience is structured such that it meets all requirements for the 1500 hours of post-doctoral Supervised Professional Experience (SPE) necessary for licensure in California. Note that it is the post-doctoral candidate’s responsibility
to determine whether this placement will meet the requirements for licensure in other states, as some states require more than 1500 hours of SPE and may have additional regulations regarding these hours.</p>

<dl class="hr-extended"><dt>Essential functions:</dt><dd>
<p>Post-doctoral therapists have general responsibility for the following duties: Providing individual, couple, and group counseling (approximately 60% of time), conducting crisis intervention, participating in evening and weekend on-call duties, conducting
psycho-educational outreach programs, assisting students in their personal and educational goals, providing training/consultation with faculty and staff of the Colleges, and other duties as assigned. Post-doctoral therapists are provided with individual supervision,
multicultural and clinical training seminars, group case conferences, and intake disposition team meetings.</p>
</dd><dt>Skills/Qualifications:</dt><dd>
<p>Completion (by August 8, 2011) of a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology is required. Previous experience in a university counseling center is preferred.</p>
