Counseling and Counseling Psychology Programs
School of Letters and Sciences
Arizona State University
The Faculty of Counseling and Counseling Psychology in the School of Letters and
Sciences at Arizona State University invites applicants for two tenure-track
positions, one at the rank of Assistant Professor and one at the rank of
Associate Professor. Specialty areas of teaching and research are open but must
be appropriate to counseling and counseling psychology. The Faculty of
Counseling and Counseling Psychology offer an APA-approved Ph.D. program in
Counseling Psychology, a CACREP-accredited Master of Counseling program in
Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and a Master of Counseling program with an
emphasis in school counseling. ASU is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as
a Research University with high research activity and emphasizes exceptional
scholarship, quality teaching, and professional service. Complete information

The Counseling and Counseling Psychology faculty is committed to affirmative

Responsibilities: Successful candidates will be expected to:
1) establish and maintain an active research program with the potential of
attracting extramural funding.
2) teach required courses in both the APA-approved Ph.D. program and the
CACREP-approved Master of Counseling program.
3) advise and mentor graduate students.
4) provide service to the program, college, university, profession, and
community as appropriate to rank.
5) Applicants for the Associate Professor position must be willing to assume a
future
administrative/leadership role in the programs.
Required Qualifications: A doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Counselor
Education, or related field by 8/16/12; an active research program with
publications appropriate to rank; and demonstrated excellence in instruction
and/or research mentoring as appropriate to rank.
Desired Qualifications: Appropriate to rank--Record of successful external
funding for research and/or training; record of successful supervision of theses
and/or dissertation; and demonstrated experience in working with diverse
populations.
Applications: The application deadline is Friday, November 18, 2011; if not
filled, every two weeks thereafter until search is closed. Applicants should
submit a cover letter describing their scholarly agenda and their qualifications
for the Assistant Professor positions or for the Associate Professor position, a
curriculum vitae, selected copies of scholarly work, and evidence of teaching
effectiveness. Applicants for the Assistant Professor positions should include
three letters of reference. Applicants for the Associate Professor position
