It was clear that those in attendance did not want to have a traditional 6-hour lecture format. Instead, several matters and topics for discussion came to the floor with the idea that these issues could be further explored and acted upon at a winter meeting. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>For example, three topics were presented by members in attendance. These topics were briefly discussed. Time prohibited lengthy treatment of these topics or the inclusion of others. Specifically, members felt that the OACES winter meeting should address the following three topics:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><ol style='margin-top:0in' start=1 type=1><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Government relations—how can we best promote our agenda?<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Professional identity in an age of life coaches, career facilitators, and for-profit education.<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3'>Promoting the “Ohio-model” of state ACES associations. <o:p></o:p></li><ol style='margin-top:0in' start=1 type=a><li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l1 level2 lfo3'>Here is how we do it in Ohio (ACES conference proposal)<o:p></o:p></li></ol></ol><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Dr. Darcy Haag Granello suggested that the Ohio State University could facilitate a meeting in Ohio Union as a cost-saving measure rather than use a hotel or other meeting-hosting facility.
