Educational Programs (CACREP) announces a new opportunity for students to
assist with special projects related to accreditation and the counseling profession.
This unique opportunity is for students currently enrolled in CACREP accredited
master’s or doctoral degree programs. Students will gain first hand
experience with CACREP’s quality assurance function at both the national and
international level. A $1,000 stipend is offered for each project
opportunity posted.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal>The CACREP Board has determined that the first special
project will focus on the relationship between CACREP’s accreditation of
school counseling programs and counselor credentialing. The project
will require the selected student to conduct research on school counselor
credentialing issues and develop a proactive plan of action for CACREP to
address any issues or concerns. The student’s work will be supervised by
CACREP’s President and CEO, Dr. Carol Bobby, whose doctoral degree is in
counselor education. CACREP is willing, if so desired, to work with a
student’s preparation program to determine whether the student can receive
credit (e.g., independent study, special internship) for this experience.
