Use caution with links and attachments.
Good morning, would you mind forwarding the information below to your school counseling site supervisors? I would really appreciate it.
Dear School Counselors and Counselor Educators,
Greetings! My name is Elishia Basner, and I am a PhD candidate in the Counselor Education program at the University of Tennessee. As part of my dissertation, I am conducting a research study with practicing school counselors regarding their experience of professional development that helped, hindered, or had a combination of influence on their work.
If you are a school counselor who has attended professional development, I invite you to share your experiences by completing a 25–30-minute one-time survey. The survey consists of three parts: (a) questions about your work background and your personal background information, (b) questions about one meaningful professional development experience that influenced your work as a school counselor, and (c) questions about a second meaningful professional development experience that influenced your work. Your time and insights would be greatly valued.
While there are no direct personal benefits to participating, your perspective may help inform efforts to improve the relevance and accessibility of professional development for school counselors. As a former school counselor, I recognize how valuable your time is. As a small token of appreciation, you may choose to enter an optional drawing for a $25 Amazon e-gift card. Email addresses are not connected to survey responses, and no identifiable information will be linked to your responses. Entry into the drawing is not contingent upon participation. If you prefer not to complete the survey, you may still enter the drawing by emailing ejones21 at vols.utk.edu<http://ejones21@vols.utk.edu/> with the subject line “Incentive Entry.”
If you are willing to participate, please click the following link to see if you’re eligible: https://utk.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3mZheeMp1t3zWLk.
If you do not qualify, but think you know someone who does, please feel free to share this invitation.
Many thanks,
Elishia Basner, MS, LSC (TN) (she/her/hers)
