Study Title: Therapist-in-Training Perceptions of Instructor’s Multicultural Orientation: A Mixed-Method Study
Introduction:
Have you had a rewarding or challenging experience in your graduate practicum class? We invite you to participate in a research study designed to understand the instructor behaviors that create an environment where therapists-in-training from historically underrepresented or marginalized groups can feel safe and grow.
Your participation can be invaluable in helping the instructors learn how to create an inclusive and positive classroom environment for trainees to grow.
Inclusion criteria:
To be eligible for participation you should:
1) Have completed or currently enrolled in a practicum/pre-practicum class
2) Be 18 years or older
3) Self-identify as belonging to one or more historically underrepresented or marginalized groups (e.g., based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, gender, age, socioeconomic status, religion, international student status, etc.)
Procedure:
1. Participation involves completion of an online survey that takes 20 to 30 minutes to complete. The survey includes Likert-type measures of classroom climates, counseling self-efficacy, instructor’s multicultural competency, and a few open-ended questions about your experiences in practicum class.
2. After completing the survey, you will be offered an additional option to be contacted for a 60-minute interview to further elaborate your experiences in clinical practicum class if you would like.
All participation is voluntary.
Compensation:
Once you complete the survey, you will have a chance to win a $50 Amazon e-gift cards (at least 1 in 10 participants will win!).
If you express interest in the follow-up interview and are selected, you will be offered a $50 Amazon e-gift cards as a compensation for your time.

I appreciate your time and consideration to contribute to this important area. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
