Good morning Doc Program Chairs!

TCNJ is hiring for the summer of 2026. We will be hiring 3 Clinical Specialists and 1 Tenure Track faculty. CS positions as 12-month and teach 10 courses a year. Our courses are all 7 weeks long, so faculty only teach 2 courses at a time and they can choose one term to not teach at all (plus we shut down for the week of Thanksgiving and 4 weeks in Dec/Jan). There is also a week off between terms, so a term of not teaching is actually 9 weeks. The TT position is a 10 month position.

CS faculty do not need to relocate to NJ, they can live anywhere in the US. TT faculty are required to be on-campus for in-person service. Many of our TT faculty live in Philadelphia and New York City, we are centrally located between those two metropolitan areas.

All of our faculty are required to be practicing counselors, and we prioritize hiring folks with a strong clinical background. The salary is pretty great for both.

The 12 month CS salary is
Compensation: Range 24/$91,777.27 - $99,422.70
The 10-month TT faculty salary is:
$86,720.75 - $93,659.67

This is particularly great for those who live in parts of the country where the cost of living is not equivalent to that in NJ. Our CS role has a two year contract, opportunity for promotions and then 5 year contracts. I created a website that has a link to the job listings<https://onlinecounselored.tcnj.edu/jobs/>, as well as TCNJ's MOUs that detail our union contract for the creation of these positions. Both of these positions are unionized, which gives us pretty amazing benefits. I also put the union contract and our salary charts on the website. I am a big fan of transparency. For faculty who wish to start a family, we have some amazing family leave benefits that include 'bonding leave' after the initial leave.

I am hoping that you can share this link with your doc students who will be graduating this May of this summer. We are applying to CACREP in January, so we don't have wiggle room at the moment to hire folks who won't be ready by that time.

Also, we just had our first doc student intern, which we loved. She co-taught two courses with us this fall, and then we hired her as an adjunct in the spring, and will continue to supervise her. We welcome doc student interns as well. If they are successful co-teaching (unpaid), we can offer adjunct opportunities (not guaranteed), and we pay $7,000 a course. Our courses are 7 weeks long. It's pretty good money. Again, thank you union. Anyone looking for a teaching internship is welcome to reach out to me directly.

Thank you in advance for passing this along to your doctoral students. I appreciate it!
Sandy
