Hello ,

We’re a team of researchers from Virginia Tech and the University of Central Florida, and we’re inviting you to take part in a study focused on empathy in the counseling profession. We obtained your email from the CACREP website. We are hopeful that you can distribute the following research request for your students:

We’re developing a new Empathic Orientation Scale designed specifically for counselors. This study will help us test the scale’s reliability and validity, starting with exploratory factor analysis. Later, we’ll conduct a second phase for confirmatory analysis. Our goal is to publish the scale and support its use in counseling research and training.

Who can participate?
We’re looking for practicing counselors and school counselors at any of the following levels:

  *   Master’s internship

  *   Pre-licensure/certification

  *   Post-licensure/certification

What’s involved?
You’ll complete a brief survey that takes about 15–20 minutes. The study is approved by the Virginia Tech Institutional Review Board (IRB#25-740).
