Subject: [External] Request to Disseminate an Invitation to Participate in Research
<Invitation to Students>
Dear CACREP master’s level counseling students,
I am conducting a research study about the counseling self-efficacy of counseling students in CACREP-accredited counseling programs.
You are receiving this email because you are currently enrolled in a CACREP-accredited master’s counseling program as a graduate student.
The purpose of this research study is to validate the Counseling Self-Efficacy Scale, and the research participant criteria are below:
You are currently a master’s student in a CACREP counseling program
The potential risks would relate to the protection of your personal information. To minimize this risk, any of the surveys will not collect personally identifiable information. The only personal information that will be collected is your email address if you wish to receive compensation, and this information will be deleted after the compensation is processed. Surveys in Qualtrics can only be accessed by the principal investigator with credentials.
Participation in this research will not yield direct benefits to you. However, it is hoped that information gained will help the development of a theory-based and validated assessment tool, which will contribute to improving and advancing the multicultural and social justice-oriented learning environment of counseling programs.
In return for your time and the inconvenience of participating in this project, all participants who meet the research criteria and complete the survey will receive a $10 Amazon e-gift card if you provide your email address at the end of the survey.
You do not have to be in this study, your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. The survey will take around 15-20 minutes to complete. If you believe you understand the study and would like to participate, please complete the survey below.

Land & Labor Acknowledgement: <https://diverse.unm.edu/about-dei-at-unm/land-labor-acknowledgement.html>
Founded in 1889, the University of New Mexico sits on the traditional homelands of the Pueblo of Sandia. The original peoples of New Mexico Pueblo, Navajo, and Apache since time immemorial, have deep connections to the land and have made significant contributions to the broader community statewide. We honor the land itself and those who remain stewards of this land throughout the generations and also acknowledge our committed relationship to Indigenous peoples. We gratefully recognize our history.
At UNM, we respectfully acknowledge the traumatic history of forced labor of Black Americans who have advanced our country. We are indebted to the enslaved and exploited African Americans who established our U.S. infrastructure and economy, advanced civil rights, and continue to influence popular culture. We are obligated to continuously recognize historic and current systemic oppression and injustices placed on Black Americans. We are grateful to their ancestors; for without them we would not be where we are today.
